www.SeeKrabi.com – We cover all of Krabi – Ao Nang, Ko Phi Phi, Krabi Town, etc. I first found this freshwater pool about 5 years ago as we visited Krabi Thailand one time. There is a kayaking area, and an elephant trekking spot in Sa Kaeo, and I was checking out the elephants and decided to keep going down the road. I found a very cool set of limestone caves, not deep, just on the surface – fun to explore though. When I walked further down the road I found this small lake. The water was fresh – not salt. It was nice… I swam in it – there are small fish, and there used to be a wooden pier to lay down on and ignore life. Then I did some research online and found out – this is the deepest freshwater lake in southeast Asia. It’s 200 meters deep. That’s 600+ feet! There are no signs. I never saw a brochure about it – there are no tours to this place. I’ve only seen one other foreign family at this place in 5 years. I’ve been here about 2 dozen times. Anyway – if you want to visit it, I’ll put a post about it at my http site under “Sa Kaeo Pool”. Will put the exact link here if I remember. Go see it – you can also climb through the caves, do elephant trekking in the best place in Krabi for trekking, and take kayaks down a freshwater spring stream (down current – little paddling) – for cheap. Sa Kaeo (Sra Gaew) is a great day trip from Ao Nang or Krabi town.
www.SeeKrabi.com This hot spring in Krabi, Thailand is a pretty nice place to take the family. The temperature of the water is not so hot that you cannot get in and enjoy it. The heat really relaxes your muscles, and you’ll sweat a lot. There are a couple of different pools to sit around in and a few tarzan vine swings out over the stream for kids to enjoy (end of the video).
